Noctilucent
whisp’ry tendrils reach
across the twilight sky
my soul floats to breach
the clouds within my eye
pray for thee, my friend,
but please pray not for me
this brain itself rends
a cave so deep, but see
looking down, you watch
the network slowly shift
looking up, blue splotch
away it slowly drifts
you asked why, just why
i am the way i am
my genes within, they vie
for conquest o’er the damned
icy raindrops fall
down to the land below
clouds, they form a pall
o’er precious earth’s chateau
i’m the damned, you see,
for i fall to my whim
even so, say thee,
my eyes, they aren’t so dim
sparkling rain drops down
to bow to nature’s law
water, so renowned,
drips quiet, yet withdrawn
don’t you see?! you say,
you’ve got that light right here!
look inside, that ray,
it twists and turns so clear!
clouds, they shift along
and cover all the land
city life, a song,
“suburban charm” be damned
late at night, the stars
fill out the twilight sky
late at night, the scars
may open as you lie
even high, the clouds,
they comfort and console
even god, he bows,
to fix and sew your soul
so take comfort, friend,
the universe is here for you
clouds can heal and mend
and make you all brand new
